@Dr_Bombay @georgetakei agreed. Meow wolf has a disturbing sense of humor and aesthetics.
@mathowie not sure if you've seen anything from muscat ( https://m.youtube.com/c/m%C3%BCnecat ) but she has excellent and weird videos on sovereign citizens, manosphere and many others
Bitcoin is 15 years old.
To put that in perspective:
The web started in 1991. 15 years later, in 2006, we had youtube, twitter, amazon, ebay - the world was unrecognisable.
What have we got in that timeframe from #blockchain? Ashes.

And you may find yourself in another part of the world
And you may find yourself installing game ROMs on your hand-held gaming device
And you may find yourself installing World of Warcraft on your work laptop before a business trip
And you may ask yourself, "Well, did I download enough music to my phone?"
Hello! We are a small independent bookshop in Stow, in the Scottish Borders. We are no longer using Twitter, for obvious reasons, but could use some new followers on Mastodon and other social media channels - where our presence is smaller than on Twitter. Please help / share this is you can! Thank you.
“Homosexuality was well known in the ancient world, well before Christ was born, and Jesus never said a word about homosexuality. In all of his teachings about multiple things—he never said that gay people should be condemned.”
- Jimmy Carter, 39th President of the United States
We need more leaders--and people of faith--like Jimmy Carter.
@zcutlip @mainframed767 I tried getting back on use net a while back and it was disappointing. I always used "agent" as my reader in the 90's/early aught, but I can't find anything that works to my satisfaction nowadays. Do you have a suggestion (or a few) for modern readers?
Thanks!
Thank goodness we have @marcelias and Democracy Docket to answer that question:
Edit: Short answer is there are legal processes in place to insure elections are certified.
Blogs are still a thing, and blogs have always been a thing. They didn't go anywhere. My technical blog is thriving.
People come back to old posts constantly.
Something I posted 10 months ago is still my top performing post. Social media posts are ephemeral & if something happens to your content - it's gone.
Host your own blog, control your content. My social media posts may max out at 500-1000 views but my page views have a consistent baseline of 30k/a month. And I haven't posted in a bit.
Tonight on Techtonic, hosted by @markhurst: Tech and the sandwich generation.
Techtonic listeners of a certain age may be in the "sandwich generation," with responsibilities for aging parents while still raising kids. Big Tech allows or even promotes predation of the elderly and children, but there are ways to resist. Mark will cover tech suggestions for both: how to deal with parents' digital assets, and how to guide kids toward better digital choices. (6pm EDT)

@holeinthehead2 hmmmm. I think it is in a background in Aliens that Ripley did have a daughter that died of old age while she was in cryo-sleep. But I don't care, this image is awesome and it's going in my desktop background sideshow folder.
I worked for the burningman project as Department of Public Works for 16 or so years. I have been programming since I was 12 and this is my 1st forray into social media. Here's hoping federation lives up to its promises!
