I'm Russian living in Russia. I was 5 when Putin was 'elected'. I'm 30 now. I know that feeling of hopelessness very well. You should never surrender. Autocrats of the world are counting on you being down and depoliticized because all of this. Don't give them an easy win. Always fight, no matter how bad situation seems.

@quite1enough I want to but it feels pointless. We marched, protested, spent countless hours with our reps - to what end? It meant nothing. The media didn't report on it, most folks stayed at home. I don't have it in me to do it again.
@lochnix If you don't have it in you now, it's your turn to rest and rebuild. I'm sidelined from protesting because of terrible PTSD, and I do feel useless and empty at the moment. But we all have other skills. Can you support the panicky and suicidal with kind messages online? Plan a game night to help other protesters meet and recover and get a break? Cook a struggling person a big dish of pasta?
If you were out marching, and talking to politicians, you're prob already a decent person. The way you spend your energy now *will* be a force for good in the world, even if it doesn't feel like a direct hit on some Nazi's nose.
@holyramenempire @lochnix @quite1enough It is a good thing to give your number to your neighbors, meet them and make some time for them. They (or you) may be targets soon, and the community we build now, will be stronger the sooner we make it.
