@alice thanks!
@alice i love it. Personally it's strange for me. I suppose if I grew up now rather than the 80's/90's I might identify as non binary but there wasn't much of a term or community for me at the time. I've definitely been called slurs even though I'm a straight white guy, I just never did things that boys are supposed to do. I am still mostly masculine but I just don't think any societal roles fit me very well. So I guess punk rock was the thing that let me feel like myself.
Someone actually built a Chrome extension to "Hide annoying Google AI Overviews". LOL. Right now it only has 2,000 users, but I wouldn't be surprised if it reaches millions in a few months when SGE (Search Generative Experience) will be rolled out globally. https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/hide-google-ai-overviews/neibhohkbmfjninidnaoacabkjonbahn Duckduckgo is also releasing similar tech using AI .

Palantir is an evil company, and its CEO showed at a conference that he is a supremely evil person.

(Also, right on brand that a New York Times commentator moderated the panel and helped Karp avoid serious questions from one of only two reporters who bothered to attend.)
I grew up in the 1950s, as vaccines were becoming common.
Mt friends and I got very sick from measles, mumps, whooping cough and more. They were called "the usual childhood diseases".
The worst were my friends in iron lungs for life, from polio.
I just don't understand this anti-vaccine phenomenon.
Building a coffee grinder and drip brewer into a giant PC case is relevant to my interests
Asimov's 3 Laws of Robotics (1942): '1st Law: A robot may not injure a human being, or through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.'
#AI (2024): 'Whatevs.'
Money-grubbing tech bros didn't even manage the 1st law, ffs. Now the weaselly disclaimers appear: 'Results may or may not be true. Lol.'
I worked for the burningman project as Department of Public Works for 16 or so years. I have been programming since I was 12 and this is my 1st forray into social media. Here's hoping federation lives up to its promises!
